On Thursday, November 28th 2019, the Croatian Transport Law Association, in cooperation with the Croatian Competition Law and Policy Association (HDPPTN), held the second workshop in the cycle “Competition Law for Practitioners, with Special Emphasis on the Transport Industry”, entitled “The Concept of Entrepreneur and the Definition of the Relevant Market in Competition Law”.

The workshop – which gathered a number interested entrepreneurs and employees from the transport and insurance sectors, as well as lawyers and judges – was given by the two leading Croatian experts in competition law – professor Siniša Petrović from the Faculty of Law in Zagreb and the president of HDPPTN, and professor Jasminka Pecotić Kaufman from the Department of Law, Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb and vice president of HDPPTN.

In the introductory part, the lecturers dealt with basic preliminary issues that enable the application of competition rules, and then explained who was considered an entrepreneur in the context of competition law and why it was important. They went on to explain when the state is (not) considered an entrepreneur in the context of competition law, why it was important to define the relevant market in the context of the application of competition rules and, for example, what was the difference between the relevant product market and the relevant geographic market.

As always at our workshops, top lecturers, pleasant working environment, and plenty of opportunities to meat and socialize with colleagues from various affiliations, followed by vivid  discussions on topics of common interest – they all contributed to high quality of yet another workshop.

Take a look at how it all went on (below the text).
