President of the Croatian Transport Law Association, professor Nikoleta Radionov, participated in the international conference „Innovation et mobilité : Où va le droit ? / Innovation and Mobility: Where Is the Law Going?“ that was held in the French city of Rouen on October 10th and 11th 2019. The conference was organised by one of the leading transport law organisations in Europe – the French Institute for International Transport Law (l’Institut du Droit International des Transports – IDIT) to celebrate IDIT’s 50th anniversary.
The conference gathered a number of experts from the transport industry, logistics, international transport organisations, as well as many members of academia, legal researchers and lecturers in transport law form Belgium, France, Croatia, Italy, the Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
In her presentation professor Radionov gave a thorough overview of the novelties in road transport legislation in Croatia, especially the fact that the contract of carriage of goods, passengers and luggage by road became a written contract, with essential elements prescribed by law. The topic of the presentation drew a lot of interest from the conference participants and sparked a lively discussion within the international audience given the danger that the legal solution in question would present for the transportation, logistics and insurance industries once enacted.
