The Croatian Transport Law Association (CTLA) will organise in cooperation with the Croatian Competition Law and Policy Association (HDPPTN), the second workshop in the cycle “Competition Law for Practitioners, with Special Emphasis on the Transport Industry”, entitled “The Concept of Entrepreneur and the Definition of Relevant Markets in Competition law”.
The workshop, intended for entrepreneurs and employees from the transport and insurance sectors, and for lawyers, judges and all those interested in competition policy, will be held on November 28th 2019 from 9 am to 3 pm at the HAKOM premises, Roberta Frangeša Mihanovića 9, Zagreb.
Did you know that…
- proceedings for infringement of competition rules can only be brought against those natural or legal persons who are considered to be entrepreneurs?
- determining the relevant market is a necessary pre-step for the application of competition rules in almost all cases?
At the workshop, you will be introduced to the basic preliminary questions that enable the application of competition rules. Also, we shall work together in order to find answers to the following questions:
- Who is considered an entrepreneur in the context of competition law? Why is this important?
- When is the state (not) considered an entrepreneur in the context of competition law?
- Why is it important to define the relevant market in the context of the application of competition rules?
- What is the difference between the relevant product market and the relevant geographic market?
- Why cannot proceedings for abuse of a dominant position be conducted without defining the relevant market?
- What is the role of defining the relevant market in cartel cases and what is its role in assessing the concentration of undertakings?
