The Croatian Transport Law Association (CTLA) will organize, in cooperation with the Croatian Insurance Bureau (CIB), a workshop entitled “Impact of the New EU Directive on Package Travel on Entrepreneurs Providing Travel and Transport Insurance Services”.
The workshop is dedicated to the Directive (EU) 2015/2302 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 November 2015 on package travel and related travel arrangements, which has been transposed into Croatian law by the Tourism Services Act (ZPUT). Its most important provisions as regards the topic of this workshop came into force on July 1st 2018.
The Directive, as well as the Croatian Law on the Provision of Services in Tourism, in some aspects significantly change and expand the current concept of package travel and introduce significant innovations in terms of rights and obligations of travel agencies, carriers, insurers and other market stakeholders on the one hand, and passengers as consumers of these services on the other.
With this in mind, the workshop will highlight the changes that these regulations bring in relation to the period before their implementation. In particular, the impact of the new regulations on the insurance of entrepreneurs and passengers against the risk of harmful consequences associated with the provision and use of these services will be clarified.
